Lost Machine Settings during rotary install - HELP

Hello: I am seeking help trying to figure out how to get my setting back after installing a rotary. I have had my laser for a year. I messed up by not saving my Machine Setting prior to installing a roller rotary. I have asked in several FB forums and either I get no reply or the instruction that I was given did not work.

I am running Lightburn, Ruida controller on a OMTech 60w.

My fault completely for jumping in before remembering the first important step SAVE SAVE SAVE. So now when I run a file to cut it is only sending the rotary setting to the machine and only engraves…no cut. That is when I realized I forgot to save the original settings.

Can someone offer assistance with resetting the Machine Settings?

THANK YOU!!!

I have tried FILE>OPEN PREF>BACKUP>SAVE PAST FILE TO DESKTOP
Then EDIT>MACHINE SETTINGS>READ>OPEN FILE FROM DESKTOP and the file is not readable. Help please.

You shouldn’t have lost settings. With laser powered and connected to computer go to the rotary settings and turn off rotary.

My option is ROTARY SETUP and then a slide button to ENABLE ROTARY. The slide button is OFF. There is no change to the setting with it off or on.

Depending on which controller you have I also have the same machine. Sometimes I need to hit the big reset button on the front of the controller to do a re-home.

Did you go in the settings and manually change and write them to controller or just enable the rotary through the rotary setup?

I had to do a hard reset previously and would love to avoid that if possible. I honestly do not remember how I fixed it and don’t want to go through that mess again.

Went through the Rotary Setup

Ruida 644XG

Hard reset by putting in a password and doing a reset?

The YELLOW button on the controller. And yes, I do believe I had to enter the password for that.

Yellow button on controller is just a quick reset.
You can go into the menu and check if the rotary in enabled or disabled on the controller. If its enabled disable it and save. Then hit the yellow reset.

This is what I have. I have not installed the top controller yet.

Rotary was off. I used the rest button and the moved the laser head. I closed Lightburn and reopened. Pulled up a new file, added a cut sized 10x10" set at 5s/40p and it says it will be complete in 9 sec. I don’t think that is correct.

My controller is the same as your one connected to the machine.

5 mm/sec or 5 in/sec

It is in inches

Go to settings under the edit tab. Change the Units/grids to inches / mm/sec

5 inches per second is pretty quick

Well, I almost had a meltdown thinking that the laser was not cutting through the wood. But, then I remembered I had put the honeycomb bed back on for some smaller projects and when it did not drop I was ready to scream. Put my good old fashion masking tape to work and voila…the pieces lifted right off. I do believe Sir you are a lifesaver hiding inside my computer and this forum!

I wish there was a LIVE Lightburn class that I could take to learn all of basics to working more efficient and become a better Maker.

I THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart and laser!!!

ALSO…you are the first person in 24 hours that actually took the time to help this damsel in distress. I posted on several FB groups with little to no assistance. Again, thank you!

Go to the machine settings and make a backup of your machine settings.

I have multiple copies, Ruida with and without the rotary.
