Loud popping and bang when cutting

Hi, have I have an Xtool D1w20 using a honeycomb bed on a metal sheet. When cutting mdf or laser ply it has popping / blowback / and I guess its flashback with a flame burst. Its concerningly loud at times, and suddenly today cutting a 4mm mdf with walnut veneer (for laser cutting) it was so strong it triggers the alarm, stops cutting and moves the sheet. Cut settings: speed 4, power 100, 1 pass. I have tried lower power settings but the speed needs to drop also.
I clean and clean the honeycomb, it has no grits.
What can I do to reduce this? Lift the material off the bed? I already tape it both sides and have air assist on.

Hi.

When lasercutting materials that produce flammable gasses (=the majority of them in hobby circles) on a honeycomb bed, the honeycomb has to be at least elevated, preferably have an exhaust below the honeycomb or even a crossbreeze.
Otherwise the air-gas mixture trapped in the honeycomb will ignite at times, causing the popping/banging.
