Is there any way to add additional commands that would lower the Z on the bed of an OMTech laser after the last layer completes?
Assuming it has a Ruida controller, nope.
Because:
- The controller returns the head to a preset location when it’s finished with a job
- That location has no Z axis coordinate
- It does not make a “Done!” notice available
The laser controllers are pretty firmly 2D, with only a rudimentary notion of moving the Z (or U, whatever) axis to a specific level at the start of each “layer” of XY commands.
Sad, but AFAICT true.
