Machine Bench Setup

I am giving it my best to mount this Atomstack to a solid fixture, I have the honeycomb moved to the front I put a tri-square on the top of the frame with the ruler on the inside this is my guide to get the H/C square and the sides of the H/C are equal distance from the frame. Next I will mark the outline of the H/C and drill 2 holes in the front and two holes on one side and place dowel in the holes this will allow me to be always centered with the laser. The first try at setup was a failure as all it took was a bit of a shake and everything went North.

You can make feet with the laser with registration points so that in the future you can use a roller without too much hassle, and with the advantage that it makes it easier to clean underneath.

There are a few easy steps:

  1. first attach the feet to the laser
  2. then glue the honeycomb supports to the front and back of the left side with spring clips (if the machine’s Home is front left)
  3. place the honeycomb and glue the remaining supports keeping the honeycomb in place
  4. once they’re glued, just place the registration points at the front so that the honeycomb slides back and can be removed.

It was designed so that in my setup:

    1. I slide the honeycomb back, then the front down and then it stays on the base and I can place the chuck/roller on top.
    1. allow a piece larger than the working area of the laser without hitting the laser guides.

Adapt to your needs.
Measurements of my honeycomb 49cm x 44cm

I can’t see it, but if you haven’t, I would highly recommend lifting your honeycomb (min. 10-20mm), so you have airflow under it, otherwise it won’t work.

It’s 12cm from the base. Thanks.

:+1: it is fine

Thank you Good People consider it done, I was trying to come up with a way to elevate the H/C and attach my blower in away that I would create a down draft to evacuate the smoke ( sounds like Cheech and Chong) as I do dislike the Creality smoke hood I have as it is cumbersome and flimsy.
Happy Easter to all
