Machine parameters without being connected

Hello
in rdworks I can load the machine parameters without being connected to see the parameters on the other hand on lightburn if we are not connected we do not load anything why ??

Because you are not online with your machine. The values in RDWorks are ā€œoldā€ from the last time the machine was online.

Hello
why rdworks does it without connection its would be good if lightburn could allow to see a configuration without connection

I asked about this. There are many times it would be nice to ā€˜pull up’ a configuration file and look at it.

The response was that it was never designed to read them in without being connected.

It’s too bad, it would be beneficial when trying to help others.

You can look at the files with a text editor…

How will you read your Ruida configuration when the machine is not accessible? Isn’t it always the latest data from the last time the computer and Ruida were connected that you read in RDWorks offline?
I imagine it as internet, I can also read everything that is in the browser’s cash, but also no more than this - without being online. Do I see it completely wrong?

Your view of the Internet is nice, but the browsers cache is not on the ā€˜Internet’ it’s on your computer. It would be more like attempting to use your browser with no Internet connection.

Lightburn or RDWorks would have no way to know what’s happened while on-line or not.

I have a 6442G controller… if I replace it with another 6442G controller, how would any software package running remotely know there was a change?

I can change it at the console while Lightburn is connected and Lightburn doesn’t know it has been changed unless I ā€˜read’ it again.

It’s simply that it was designed to read from a controller on invocation. Sometimes it’s not easy to modify the architecture from something that was, in the early design, a specific way of handling something.

Only the development team can answer that in more detail…

hello
I know that you have to be connected to the machine to modify but as the person said before it would be good to be able to look at these parameters without connection to possibly help others

Not quite as convenient but you could save an offline copy of the settings.

I do have multiple copies of different machine configurations. You cannot ā€˜load’ a file if the controller isn’t connected.

You are beating a dead horse… :frowning:

:smiley_cat:

That’s actually what I write or at least mean by it.

Hello
on the other hand it would be good to be able to set the parameters without being connected to calculate the machining time the programs are not done in the workshop but in the house so I do not know how lightburn calculates the machining time in a standard way or if it is base to parameter

because sometimes I have a big difference between calculated and real time

ā€˜Edit → Device Settings → Additional settings’

These are the parameters that Lightburn uses to compute job time.
