Machine settings are blank

i have the xtool p2 my machine settings are blank and my console sends ok when I type $$, I’m pretty sure this is why I can get anything to cut. I’m missing something somewhere and i cannot figure out what

You can look at this.
Please don’t double post.
Use LightBurn to Operate xTool P2 – xTool (zendesk.com)

I have read everything on this webpage and followed those steps with nothing fixing my problem.

Some controllers do not report the GRBL parameters because that capability is turned off by the manufacturer or it is not a GRBL controller.

The second image says the controller is sending Lightburn information, so maybe you missed a step or assumed success when there was none. It would not hurt to repeat what @Dskall suggested, but go slower this time. Otherwise you will be prone to repeat any mistakes you might have made the first time.

And yeah, double-posting makes people unhappy.

The machine settings gui advised

I’d assume that machine doesn’t return them. :man_shrugging:

Is it showing up in devices?

The error message says the controller it didn’t return any settings.

It usually advises there is no controller connected by a read attempt failed type of error message…

A couple of screens down, it shows the console and you can see the device is ready.

Mine is always ready. Not connected to anything.

Thank you all for your help, and I apologize for the double post. I think I was looking for something that wasn’t there. I am brand new lightburn. I had changed my settings to inches and saw somewhere to change it back to mm, and it is now firing and cutting properly.
thank you for your help.

What does it say if you try the Machine setting?

Mine doesn’t say ready unless it’s connected to a controller.

The error message in the Machine settings advises there is no controller…

@StephanieB states it didn’t return any information.

I will get back to you all tomorrow, my machine is at work. Thank you.

Always thought it strange that laser is ready. I would expect is to read Disconnected.

Glad to hear you are back up and running. That is what is important, right?

My 3018 does this as long as the USB cable is connected. That was a hint…

This is completely disconnected and only used to design.

Ok, yeah, you have a mystery.

Do you have some other usb device plugged in?

It seems to think it’s found something out there.
