I have calibrated the x axis several times. I even moved the laser to the extents of my design, test fired and measured the distance. Every thing is good, until the laser completes the job and each colmn is smaller than the previous.
How did you calibrate the axis? Most people do it incorrectly by measuring the cutout. This is wrong and leads to percentage errors that rise over distance. Maybe show your values, the steps/mm values are most important.
I cut a gridded square (pic), measured each horizontal and vertical, averaged and input as actual distance. Is there a better/more correct way? I’ll have to check the steps/mm value and get back to you. I do this more as a hobby and work long hours on my job, so responses may be drawn out. Thank you for your help though.
