Making Stencil Font

Is there a easy way to make some fonts stencil fonts. For example I would like to make stencil font out of open sans.

Tim’s method is very interesting, and I hadn’t even thought of that approach. (Something to consider for a future project)

I’ve had to do this before, and basically I looked for stencil fonts that I liked for the project in question and installed them on my computer, which is quite simple and quick.
