The Laser Engraving Machine stopped while cutting 2mm thick plywood.

The LED on the board is lit red and blue off.

The software used was LightBurn 1.7.04.

The display on the console at the time of the stop was as follows:

$122=10.000

$130=410.000

$131=400.000

$132=200.000 (It was working normal until this point) ・

I would like answers to the following questions regarding the above problem.

・What is the cause of the problem?

・Is there a way to continue the work from the sequence where it stopped?

・What can be done to prevent the problem from occurring again?

This is likely nothing to do with the actual problem. What likely happened is that your control board somehow failed and rebooted. I’m guessing that your machine displays this message as part of the Welcome Message upon reboot. You can test this by power cycling your machine to see what gets displayed.

Check farther up in the Console window for any clue to what actually caused the issue.

In Preview window, you can step through the Preview, then select “Start from here” which will allow you to continue from that point in the burning process.

You need to identify root cause. These issues are typically caused by:

  1. Bad USB cable
  2. Static discharge
  3. Failing power supply - if you are in Japan make sure that the power adapter is rated for 100V
  4. Bad firmware flash - Sculpfun used to have issues with firmware flashes going. This may be an issue in your case.
  5. Bad control board - Sculpfun has also had some issues with failing boards. Don’t know if this is a typical symptom

I am very grateful for your teachings.
I will consider what you have taught me and try various things.

Follow-up to the problem with the SCULPFUN S6/S6 Pro Laser Engraving Machine

When I tried again on a different PC, the problem did not occur.
The problem occurred when I used a laptop (Windows 10) that is always in the workshop where the SCULPFUN is located.
As a test, I brought the SCULPFUN into my study and connected it to a desktop PC (Windows 11), and the problem did not occur.
I don’t know the exact cause, but as long as I can work, I’ve decided to continue in this state for the time being.
(I have to put up with the smoky atmosphere in my study…)

You can try Export Bundle from the Win11 PC then import to Win10 PC.

This is good and should make troubleshooting easier.

When brought into the study, did you reuse all equipment including USB cable and power supply?

If the only variable is the laptop then a couple of things to review:

  1. Disable USB Power savings on all USB devices on the laptop
  2. Try a different USB port on the laptop

You could also try the laptop as-is in the study which could reveal an environmental factor.
