Material test laser 2 dsp

Hello,

I have a diy laser with two laser sources, everything is setup corectly and i can use both of them with lightburn.
My issue is when i want to do a material test on laser 2, lightburn change power on laser 1 instead with laser 2 at layer power (in this expemple 20%)
Any idea why this is happening ?

I don’t have a dual system … most of us don’t…

I think it might be a good call to ask for external help on this one.

Maybe @Rick can assist on if this is some kind of issue with the materials test routine…

I would think if you ran the materials test with both enabled, it would give you the option of which laser to use…

Might want to put the model of your Ruida in your profile. There are a number of dsp controllers around… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

:smile_cat:

I’ve tried today with both enable, don’t ask me anything and change only laser 1 power.
Sure, i have Ruida 6442S

One of our team just tested on a dual-laser setup, and offered this:

Working correctly here - turned on laser 2 only and it alone ran the Material Test.
My only guess is that he may not actually be running the test, and is construing the information on the controller display to mean that the power on laser 2 has not changed, but that’s not what it means.

Instead, Layer 2 is going to run at 20%, which makes sense for the test he has set up - he’s got a count of 3, starting at 10% and going to 30%, so number 2 would be, correctly, 20%.

Oz followed with:

Yes, I would ask him where, specifically, he’s reading the power for laser 2?

From the test i showed, laser 2 was 20% from start to finish.
Laser 1 who was set off (and 0% min/max) in material test had power adjusted to 12% as you can see on ruida screen (letters power from material test) then 10, 20, 30.

I’m reading power on the screen, max power where both laser 1 and 2 power are displayed.
I also reading amps from laser 1 PSU to confirm that.
