I’m thinking of a DIY build with a cabinet wide enough to take a full width MDF sheet, 49" plus a bit of room to maneuver. Is that something that could realistically be used with the camera for positioning and the pass through processing of large objects?
That’s about 1244mm, and an 8mp camera captures between 3400 and 3840 pixels horizontally, so with really good calibration and alignment you could feasibly get mm accuracy, which would be enough for reasonably accurate placement on material.
For aligning of pass-through cuts, it would be more accurate to use registration marks / print & cut alignment.
That was my thought, but I wanted to ask. Never assume anything with lasers and software. Now I just have convince the book keeper that a new laser is higher on the priority list than all her craft supplies…
