Merging Elements Together - Stuck

I am trying to do some Christmas ornaments in LB, and am stuck trying to merge/connect some items together. In the image, I am trying to attach the stars to the inner ring and also the text - but I cannot seem to get them to link together to form a single path.

I was able to join the text to the inner circle, now I cannot seem to figure out how to join the stars to the inner circle and also the text…

Thoughts on where I have gone wrong??
