Minimal Distance head movement and weak

OK, so I do 100 tumblers yesterday. I need to get back to doing my coasters.

2 across x 2 up and down
Same setup, same file as earlier this week. All was good then.

NOW?

The two far right ones are very weak looking. Barely getting marked?
Same Jig and spacing as the previous 1000 of them.

So I figure clean the focusing lens. Did that. Back in the head she goes. Same result.
I make sure the honeycomb bed is the same height on both. Very, Very, close.

I do a tape burn.

I move the head to the middle of coaster top right one, and pulse. Then Move the head to the left one. Another pulse. How can there be this much difference in the holes when the head only moved 2.5 inches or so?

The smaller hole on the tape [top hole] is over coaster 2 to the right. Larger is the one is over the left coaster in the middle.

How does this happen? Is it a mirror thing? Totally lost. I can move on, but only do the ones on the left so do 2 instead of 4 before swapping out. Uggggg

Sounds like you have something mechanically loose…

The alignment is off, so it pretty much has to be something mechanical.

After all the work you’ve done… I’d suspect it loosened up a bit.

Jack… I found it, or at least its working now.

One of the lock nuts on mirror 2 was a bit loose on the thumb screw. I tightened her up, and we’re back in bizzzzznaaazzz

Thankx
