Trying to engrave a simple image on the back of a mirror.
Have it set for offset fill. It’s just a line drawing.
Got the speed set at 250.
Laser at 100%.
1 pass.
It says it’s going to take over 9 hours.
I’ve watched a few videos on this where people say it takes them less than 10 minutes.,
What am I missing?
Thank you.
How about showing us the file that you want to engrave? Or some screen shots of the settings?
There is not enough information in your post for us to even guess at a solution to your problem.
on my 10w I put speed 5600 and 100% power
watch Benmaker’s excellent tutorial on youtube.
small example, the photo does not render many reflections well, but in real life it is impeccable, I used black gpuache, applied with a foam roller, 3 layers, dried with a heat gun, speed 5600, power 100%, line interval 0.08, 312 dpi, point width correction 0.04, no overscanning
Offset fill is likely the problem, because the spot will follow each of the lines. Because the head must speed up and slow down for each change in direction, it’ll take much longer than a simple Fill
scan across the entire image at full speed.
In general, Offset Fill
is better for large, simple regions:
I’ve tried both fill and offset fill and it didn’t seem to make much of a difference. I’ll post my settings later today.
100% power,no constant power,speed min 3000
