So I am missing a fundamental step in trace to vector.
I can load an image, select and adjust the trace,
delete the original image, leaving the trace lines.
Select Fill, Preview, and nothing shows.
I’ve watched the videos, but I’m missing something…
consider to attach a representative file experiencing this problem. At first thought, one may have non-closed objects which will not create a fill.

When I opened your file you have cut selected graphics selected. Select your project and click preview or turn off the cut selected graphics It worked for me. Also the layer was set to line not fill.
Yes, it was set to line.
Interesting in mine, I do not have Cut Select Graphics Selected.
This is exactly how it was uploaded.
It works either way. Not sure what the problem is unless you need to zoom out during preview. It might be just off screen.

Another thing to look for is make sure output is turned on.
