When going into the Project Setup Edit for a job created and saved previously the software creates a new document when trying to save the stock settings.
Problem started once updating to MillMage Pro 0.8.00-RC-14 @ e747243 Qt6.5.7
Ex. I have a job I would like to run on a new stock size. So I would normally go into the Project Setup Edit tab and change the stock size to the new piece I have on the CNC. Once stock settings are changed. I hit OK and normally good to go with the new stock size showing in the design window. Currently after updating to the newest version. MM now creates a whole new document and I loose all settings and Graphics. I can go back and reload the old file but no settings were changed.
Hopefully this all makes sense. Thank You for your help.
I mentioned this to them on the 10th January via email with several other issues and they still haven’t got back to me to acknowledge any of them, was about to post here when I saw your post.
The workaround I’ve found since is to use a virtual machine and run the older version from that. This means I can run both side by side at the same time. For me I enabled sandbox mode on my pc (Windows 10 or above - very easy to do and automatically sets up windows and is quick – I’m using it on Windows 10 8gb. But be warned this will not store any apps when sandbox is closed and will reset the image. But this is more convenient for me personally.
Or you could install it on a second Pc if you have one and wanted too.
First export your device settings from manage devices in MillMage (I selected ALL settings). Copy and install the previous version of Millmage to your virtual machine but don’t update (obviously). Copy device settings and your project to the virtual machine. Import device settings and open your copied project, edit the workspace settings then save and copy back to your PC. Click on the file directly to open (not through MillMage as this didn’t work for me) and it should give you your updated workspace.
