Hi,
Does anyone here know if there are some fancy monogram fonts that can be added to Lightburn?
Thank you,
Jim

LightBurn uses the fonts installed on your computer, so if you find a font you want to use, install it on your computer and it will be available in LightBurn. You might have to close and reopen lightburn for it to be visible though.
Try here. You can make your own monogram letters for free.
And here’s a zip file with A to Z Split letters i have found useful.
Just change the extension from .txt to .zip
svg.txt (36.5 KB)
Hi Tim,
Thank you for your response. The various fonts on my computer or in Lightburn are great for just single letters. I am looking more for how those letters can be arranged etc. to bring them to another level, like engraving on fancy sterling silver items.
Jim
Hi Loren,
Thank you very much. That is exactly what I am looking for, as far as a concept. I looked at the 80 styles and while they are in the ballpark, I think I want more flexibility and more of an aristocratic look. Some of these seem to be a little unbalanced and slightly cartoonish.
Jim
Loren,
I guess I cannot see the full potential here. Not completely understanding the possibilities.
Jim
What @baricl1317 provided were “monograms”, which is what we thought you wanted. It appears you are looking for “monogram fonts”, which is different. Maybe what you are wanting can be found here…
Posting an example photo of what you’re looking for would help us understand. What I posted is how to use fonts in lightburn. What @baricl1317 posted are 2 examples of monograms. If you are looking for “fancy” fonts, what @MikeyH posted will be helpful.
We are all trying to help you, but we can only help based on our understanding of the text you posted.
Might not be what you are looking for, but I created a Circular Monogram generator in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, Inkscape, Silhouette Studio, and Affinity Designer.
Hi Tim,
I am not trying to be difficult here. I appreciate all the help that I have received from this forum. I do know how to use the fonts in Lightburn and so I am not looking for anything on that front. I guess I may be looking for additional fancy fonts, but I also want a monogram program that arranges and sizes them automatically. I can make monograms the way I want to, but I do not want to start from scratch every time I have to make a different one. So it is possible that I am looking for both, fancier fonts and monogram software. I have been looking for an example to post, but have not been successful yet. It is one of those things where when I see it I will know.
Jim
Never thought you were. Like I mentioned, we can’t read your mind or know what you’re looking for without better description or images. We do want to help.
I get that. Good luck.
I’ve never heard of anything like that available for the general public.
If you have a co2, I doubt you’ll be able to engrave silver.
Jack,
I will just design my own monograms, it is time consuming but that appears to be the only option to get what I want. I have a Co2 laser and a fiber laser for metal.
Jim
Mentioned it, as your profile doesn’t include the fiber
if you find some automated way, I’m sure all of us would like to know.
Good luck
everettebeach,
Thank you. That is the concept where the letters conform to the border or frame. I did see this shortly after posting. Just have to make them more elegant.
Jim
Most of the monogram fonts out there, seem to be for three letters, I often need just two so I designed my own.
Julian,
Nice job.
Thank you,
Jim
