Hello,
I cannot seem to get Lightburn to recognize my laser on Linux. However, using the same PC it works fine with Windows. I hate using windows… I suspect it is a missing driver. I am currently using the board below which is a Monport Lightbun Compatible GRBL Motherboard for Desktp 40W CO2 Laser Engraver (K50). It has a MEGA328P/Arduino chip. Does anyone know of some drivers that I can try out?
I had to add the device manually for linux. Click on device and choose grbl. You may have to choose
a port with the drop down next to the ‘Device’ button. Mine is ttyACMO not ttys0. But yours could be different
Also did you add your username to the tty and dialout group? And reboot.
I am running a Monport K40 on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed without a problem.
Two places to check …
lsusb and dmesg piped through tail…
Does it show up as being plugged in with lsusb?
dmesg, needs sudo, will show the last device plugged in and if it was successful or not. Sometimes includes the port.
I’ve had an issue with the cp20x.ko driver. I believe I had to remove the braille driver. Seems a common issue with this driver…
It is any of this hardware
CP2101/CP2102/CP2103 based USB
to RS232 converters.
