Does anyone have any experience with how thick plywood, basswood, or pine this laser can cut through, and if so, what power and how many passes? This unit includes air assist. I have a 33W output diode and the maximum I can cut is approximately 7 to 8 mm w/o excessive charring. Also, I have read that the maximum power output I should use for this laser is 70% power. Some even say, 60% power. Since I’m going to use LightBurn, should I set the dial on the laser a little more than halfway which would [I believe] indicate that if I use 100% power in LightBurn it would only be 60-70% power to the CO2 tube? Any and all links for information on cutting, etching glass, and engraving wood/acrylic on a K40-type CO2 laser would be greatly appreciated. The primary reason for this purchase was to etch glass and cut/edge acrylic of all colors and also cut clear/translucent acrylic. Any information on using this laser for those tasks would also be appreciated. I know I can search YouTube for information - and I have, but most folks on this forum have firsthand knowledge and information that may help me. Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.
Material tests are usually the first place to start, since each laser is different.
