Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
This is a long one so bear with me.
I purchased a second hand laser - turns out it is one of the original Orturs. I upgraded the laser to a ortur 10w, all of a sudden it just stopped performed well (I use 3mm Mdf). Insurance to decrease the speed immensely to get through my cut. I changed my lens, checked all mechanics but to no avail. I decided to upgrade my laser again to a 40w and I’m still having the exact same problems. I have a spare motherboard that is an upgrade from the original. I will be going from 12v to 24v and hopi if to run my new laser (24v) off the new board. I have full capability to require to the new board but just not sure if 1: it’s worth it. 2: it will make a difference.
I have contacted ortur for advice but the service has been nothing to poor.
I live in New Zealand so am really limited to services here.
Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
What was the voltage of original laser?
What is the voltage of 10Watt laser?
Are the lasers running off a separate power supply?
Module performance should be unrelated to motherboard
have you checked 10W optics, they are notorious for getting bad and causing lack of power.
Also you can test your PWM signal with a multimeter and
maybe do a $$ dump of settings from console?
