Mr Carve M4 (BSLFiber) - Frame and Start perform the same action

Hi,

I’m using a Mr Carve M4 with a Raycus fiber laser and BSLFiber (SeaCAD) controller.

The machine works perfectly in SeaCAD:

  • Frame shows the red light outline.
  • Mark engraves correctly.

In LightBurn 1.7.08:

  • Frame immediately engraves the outline.
  • Start does exactly the same thing.
  • Both commands perform the same action.

LightBurn detects the controller correctly, the laser fires, and engraving works, but Frame never behaves as a real frame.

I already tried:

  • Importing the SeaCAD configuration.
  • Raycus + Fiber settings.
  • Recreating the device.
  • Different LightBurn versions.

Has anyone seen this behavior with a BSLFiber / SeaCAD controller? Is it a known firmware compatibility issue?

What port number do you have assigned to ‘Start Framing’ and ‘Start Marking’ in your Device Settings in LightBurn?

From what you’re describing, they may be the same, and you will need to change your ‘Start Framing’ IO Port assignment.

If re-importing your SeaCAD configuration file did not work for you, see if you can find the IO Port assignments in SeaCAD itself and adjust any ports in LightBurn manually.
