My Atomstack A5 M50 PRO motors not responding

Hi, I have had my Atomstack A5 M50 Pro for about a year, recently i turned it on and it makes a knocking sound from the motors. When i disconnect them, the machine responds well. However, when i connect them, the knocking noise comes back and not even the screen works nor respond. What could the problem be? Are my motors spoilt? How can i fix this?

does it bump against the frame?

Yes i feel the bump on the frame, but there is no single movement of the motors. Usually upon powering on , it would reposition in home, but this time round it’s just that continuous bump, “like someone hammering” here is a link to the video to show you what is happening https://youtube.com/shorts/M97tGDh8G1c?feature=share

Weird… :relieved:

Did you try to manually put the head in the middle of the frame before starting? it would indicates if it’s moving before bumping in the frame or the limit switches

Very weird indeed. I tried moving the head manually but it remains in the same place with that knocking sound. I suspect the motors could have gotten an electrical problem. Because when i disconnect the connections to the motors, everything goes back to normal, the computer can even recognise the machine.

both motors?

I meant to move the head in the center while the machine is OFF and then power it on.

Yes both motors. I have moved it to the centre and still no difference.

can you try to upload the firmware again? maybe it’s corrupted

how do i upload the firmware? The machine i have did not need any firmware upload at the start

Disconnect the motors individually to see if it’s just one motor causing the issue or both.

it’s described here:

Thanks let me attempt this

Both were affected, i have tested the motors and their resistance is fine so the problem is somewhere at the motherboard end

It’s possible your power supply is going bad also, not enough power to run a motor, causing the system to reset. Try a different power supply if you have one.

Hi @Mat13 , unfortunately the firmware package on the link is nolonger available, might you have another source for downloading the firmware

no sorry (I have an ortur), but contact the support here Contact Us
and send also your video, they should manage to diagnose the problem.
