I only have the align buttons so have to go into the menus to distribute anything. Is there a menu other than arrange, or arrange long that has them?
Is there a specific reason you’re saying other than these two menu choices? Normally the distribute buttons accompany these menu choices.
Or are you saying that even with those menu choices selected you don’t see them? If so, you may need to rearrange the location of the specific toolbar as the right side of the toolbar might be getting chopped off. Note that you needn’t use both Arrange and Arrange Long… Long is a superset of the non-Long option.
If this isn’t making sense can you please take a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
both arrange options have it missing.
I tried other “windows” and moved the toolbars around but they didn’t show up.
Try grabbing the vertical dotted portion of the toolbar and drag to the right. This should expose more of the Arrange tools.

Settings > turn off Beginner Mode
what? are they afraid we might break something if we have too many tools showing?

Ah… missed that from your screenshot. Glad you got it.
Beginner mode is meant to reduce complexity for new users but sometimes causes confusion when the screen doesn’t match documentation or other examples as you discovered.
