My first try with a photo on black Acrylic /445nm /Ruida

just make a piece of something with the right focal distance, I put the laserhead over the material and move the table up till my 38mm piece hits the laser.

I ran your original settings and cut a groove into the plastic. See photo.
I went back to the settings I used for my daughter’s dog photo (see photo) and was able to print the grayscale onto black acrylic at 6000/25% 450 dpi Hard to take a photo of the results, but the newsprint and Jarvis came out close to a gradient. I had not considered the Jarvis before, had always used newsprint. Ideally I should be able to get the acrylic print to match the original photo, then just always adjust the photo for good black to white balance. The preview screen is worthless as you can see by the attached.

Short of a dirty lens or way out of focus, I can’t explain our different settings. Still learning my machine, so not sure what else could create that much difference in results?

way too much power the last pic, as you can see one side burned deep
