Hi there. I’m new to the forum but I’ve been using Lightburn for a couple years now. It’s time to get more familiar with all its abilities.
I have a high resolution image (jpeg) that a client would like me to laser engrave onto a cutting board. I have to convert the image from a color image to black and white / greyscale. I size it open, position everything, and click the preview tab. Even though the image I have been working with looks great, the preview is horrible. Almost completely blacked-out, No whites what-so-ever. and fuzzy details.
I’ve tried editing it with Adobe, saving it as a PNG, deleting the background, etc. Nothing is working for me. Any suggestions? TIA
@thelmuth is correct, images are the most difficult to get right…
Preview shows you where it will lase. It has no way to know the material, if you’re doing a rock, wood or kryptonite.
I suggest you watch this video from Laser Everything, it’s very good, will teach you about interval (dpi) and many other things you need to know. The procedure works for any laser using any material.
