First, you selected the wrong port. cu.usbmodem is not correct. Check for cu.usbserial***
Next, the connection might also be not stable, in that case, change the USB cable.

It really looks like LightBurn is attempting to talk to another piece of equipment.
If you have installed the CH340 driver, the letters ‘wch’ should appear in one of the serial port options. That would be the one you are looking for. If you see it, please select it and retest communication with your laser.
