why does my y axis have more power than x axis whem im cutting?
Because a diode laser produces a rectangular spot, not a circle. It will cut a wider path when moving “sideways” and a deeper path when moving “lengthwise”.
It seems like your machine has the rectangle aligned with the long sides parallel to the Y axis, so motions along the X axis produce a wider path that does not cut as well.
hi thanks for the feedback it did work well only a few weeks ago it started is there a way to fix this problem or do i need to buy a other head?
Many diode laser heads have a fan pushing fumes directly into the electronics while doing a bad job of keeping the lens clear, so it’s also time for a good lens cleaning.
Also, focus is critical, so run a ramp test to be sure the tightest focus is where you expect it to be. The focus gauge / block that came with the machine may be inaccurate, so: trust but verify with a ramp test.
