Hi, (60w MOPA) on Stainless steel.
I would like to explore the effect of two variables on a certain material setting. An example would be keeping a specific power, speed and then vary the QPulse and Frequency in the grid. I have set up the grid for QPulse and Frequency, but it seems to pick its own speed and power settings.
I’m certain I’m not seeing the tree for the forest and or operator error but need to ask. (yes I did search). TIA
It does not pick it’s own values. You click ‘Edit Material Setting’ and choose the values from there. The two selected values in the main material test window will be overridden, and the rest will be what you set in the Edit window.

… I thought I had selected a layer (one in this case) and assigned material properties near the desired research range… I suspected that what you said might be the case, something (operator error) must have gone wrong in that sequence. I thought I had tried that (we won’t say how many times…) I did it again after your reply and … yes, it worked. The machine is happily going through the desired grid.
