What I am trying to do: Use a picture of the US Constitution to engrave on a board without using the Trace Image tool. I was able after some effort to do the Declaration of Independence. It came out great very fine detail. Now I can’t get it to work again. Most people may not have run into this issue because most of the time you can get by with Trace.
Some one please help me understand because I’m feeling pretty stupid about now. I just don’t understand why that some pictures I can manipulate and others I can’t do anything with. I have spent untold hours trying to get a certain picture to let me select a portion of it. And it will not let me group or un-group the picture. There for I can’t make a new layer for different engrave settings. I can not move parts of it around, delete or add to that image nor can I use the node editor. I have tried using different file formats .JPG, SVG and .PNG. In other words it is what it is and NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE TO IT. Then a couple of times it just started working but I don’t know why. I don’t see a way to add a picture of the one I already did. It has so much fine detail and that’s what I need.
