Need help setting up my Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro to use with Lightburn trial version. I downloaded free trial of Lightburn and watched a video for set up. I connected my laptop to the laser via USB and tried to find the device using the auto detect machine. It did not find anything. Laser is powered on and seems properly plugged into the USB on laser and computer. This is a new machine and may not have been installed by anyone at this school.
Are you sure that laser connected?
Did console show connection?
Your profile is showing that you’re using a PC (or laptop) with Windows 10.
I’m going to offer something fairly unlikely with the intent of ruling it out.
If Windows hasn’t installed the driver with Windows Updates, It won’t recognize this laser engraver as something that LightBurn can communicate with.
At your next opportunity, follow this link from Ortur:
On this page, click ‘Drivers’ in the second header (about halfway down the page).
With the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro powered up and connected to the the Windows computer, confirm in the Device Manager app in Windows 10 that the Espressif device is presented with a COM port address - Not as shown above.
Please take a screenshot to share what you’re seeing by dropping an image into your reply.
For more detail, have a look at the linked PDF instructions offered near the bottom of that page. Although the PDF instructions say ‘Aufero’, both controller boards use this chip and these instructions offer a good first step.
After several attempts to auto detect the device, I finally got it to work. I am not exactly sure, but at first it would not detect the device. I did notice once I got it set up, left and came back to connect the USB and continue, that it had lost communication again. I pushed the RESET button in the front just above the POWER button and I think that got it to communicate again. I lasered my first job so it works. Thanks.
