In my opinion @CraftyGal24 sells the files in .lbrn2 format and Inkscape is just a confirmation.
Can’t wait to get home and test all the suggestions! I didn’t realize that LB would not require conversion of fonts to path prior to export as SVG. I thought that if done that way, it would be fine for anyone opening the file that has the font installed but others would get the missing font error and the text would convert to some other font that they do have installed. Thanks for that important info!
Thanks to all of you for your help! Looks like I’ve been overthinking and over working this for a long time. Just to clarify, I sell my files in LBRN2, SVG and DXF so I will still need to weld the LBRN2 text to avoid missing font issues for the end user. My files do not include editable text. I tested and agree that there is no reason to weld for the purpose of exporting as SVG so apparently I’ve wasted a lot of time over the years going through all the steps Ha Ha! Looking forward to having more free time! Also, for whatever reason, the offset fill issue is no longer happening so I don’t know what that was about. Thanks again for the help everyone!
You don’t need to weld the text for the lbrn2 files either. If the font isn’t on their system Lightburn converts to paths upon opening the file. I just tested this to verify.
I downloaded and installed a unique font, created text, saved the lbrn2 file. Then I closed Lightburn, deleted the font, restarted Lightburn and opened the file. I got a message that the font wasn’t found on my system, clicked OK and Lightburn recreated it properly as a path.
Thank you for verifying that. Smart method by the way. I was going to test it by sending it to a friend but you’re more clever than I. Much appreciated. Just trying to mitigate any reason for people to give less than a 5 star review. You would be surprised what buyers will give you a bad review over. Thanks again Tim. You definitely know LB.
