My laser cutter has suffered a cascading failure - while I wait for customer service to respond, I do not hold out hope for a timely and effective response.. my issue is that i have a number of projects to complete in the next 4 - 6 weeks. Any thoughts on a good large format 400mm by 400mm diode laser?
With no other information to go on, I suggest the Sculpfun SF-A9 40w/20w machine.
Or for a little more money, the A9 Ultra.
One aspect of @MikeyH’s suggestion is the time cost of getting a different laser into production.
If finishing projects in the next month is the most important criterion, then buy another Acmer P3, set it up, and all your existing jobs should work without (much) adjustment. Consider scrapping the first one a cost of doing business and move on.
Acmer is probably no less reliable and their customer service no more unresponsive than their competition; half an hour devoted to browsing the horror stories around here should disabuse you of any brand favoritism.

Good point. And your suggestion is resulting in a lot of conversations here! It does appear that the P3 line has some issues. Not saying that other system don’t. Overall, the customer service at ACMER has been responsive, but we feel it may be time to move on!
I’ve had good experience with my Neje Max 3. The new version, Max 4 V2, is out (with a motorized Z axis), but it may be a little larger than what you are wanting.

Let us know where your buck stops. Desktop lasers seem to be pooling into 2 categories: Great and Toy. And one other, Does Not Play Well With Others. I feel sorry for those buying their first machine.

We decided to go with a WECREAT VisionPro. More than I wanted to spend. Still trying to get it configured…thanks to all for your suggestions….
