Need to restart/power cycle laser after each job

Having an issue with the omtech polar needing to be restarted everytime I want to start a new job. It says that it’s not available and may be in use…as if the previous job didn’t let go of the laser when completed. Restarting Lightburn doesn’t fix it…I have to power cycle the laser, which I don’t think is a good thing for the life of the machine.

This is a common issue. Which version of LightBurn are you using? Does the status ring on the laser turn Red when this happens?

Using the latest version…I’m assuming it’s more an OMTech Polar issue, but it’s hard to diagnose as it’s hit and miss, and not all the time. The light does not turn red.

Downgrade LightBurn to 1.4.01 and see if you can still get it to crash. I haven’t had a single crash since downgrading. Including running jobs over 1 hour each.

The lack of a screen or local control panel on the OMTech Polar may be hiding a stored file concern.

Files sent from LightBurn are stored on the Ruida Controller. Unanticipated symptoms arise as the controller memory fills up. Please delete unwanted files from the controller and retest.

it appears @KungFuJosh has solved this in another thread.

For users that don’t have a panel: in LightBurn go to Window → File List. In the File List tab that pops up, Click “Delete all files.”

Just tried this, and it seems to have worked… unplug the camera! Looks like it was causing some connection issues.

it’s worked for me once now, but would like to confirm with multiple attempts…
