Negative output

Hi,
I’m completly new here. I have a problem, I hope I’m on the right spot to find out more about it.
When I enter (or import (.JPG) text, I always get a negative output. I tried to import a negative JPG, but even, it all goes wrong. What I try to do is: just entering a small text (black, no background). But The laser always makes the background black and leaves the text white. What do I do wrong?
