Neje 3 Plus trouble with size

Hi

I have just switched to an Neje 3 from a 2 and I am having difficulty setting it up

I cant remember how I did it last time as I have a memory problem

Lightburn recognises the machine but when I home it it goes far left top and bangs into the bar

this is the message I get

Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance. Defined as 1.5 * max_travel on search and 5 * pulloff on locate phase

Help would be appreciated thank you

You probably have the settings wrong in the Device Settings. According to the Neje Wiki, the proper home position is front left. Sounds like yours is rear left.

Hi

I have followed the website instruction and put to front left and no better

If I try and frame a graphic it goes flying off to the right and stops at its limited and just keeps trying to go

Reset while in motion. Grbl cannot guarantee position. Lost steps are likely. Re-homing is highly recommended.

Did you reset the home position, turn off the machine, and then turn it back on again so it could home properly?

Yes I did. I even rebooted the laptop

It’s almost as if it isn’t recognising the size of the machine.

I am lost at the moment

I have also found another issue - GRBL when I try to connect I get access denied comport 6 which is the post for the Neje

I just cant find a solution

This is most likely going to be a hardware issue, not something in software.

There should be homing switches that are actuated at the top and left sides of the machine. Look for those. Manually move the machine while off to see if you can properly actuate those switches. You should feel and hear the actuation. If you cannot actuate the switches inspect the machine to identify what’s preventing that from occurring.

If the switches are getting actuated, check the cabling to make sure that everything is properly plugged in and recheck that all cables are in the right location.

That’s great advice thank you.

I have dismantled its holding area and there was a ribbon in the way of one of the switches.

Also had a little fiddle with origin and home.

All good now thank you.
