Neje E80 protective lens removal

Every few months, the protective lens over the laser head becomes discoloured/fogged enough to need replacing. Usually after a little encouragement I’ve been able to get the lens to fall out and the replacement has been trouble free. This time however the lens won’t budge, and I’ve reached the end of my non-destructive ideas on how to dislodge it. Has anyone had and overcome a similar experience? Could you share your solution or provide an idea? One of my solutions so far was to try to fix a plastic rod to the lens with superglue in order to be able to pull the lens free, but this failed and left me with even more gunk on (and possibly around) the lens.

Now FIXED - in case anyone else encounters the same problem - I couldn’t dislodge the lens with needles or tweezers or scissors, so I warmed up the end of an 8mm glue stick (as used in hot glue guns), pressed the soft end to the lens and after a few seconds started rocking and turning it. After a few seconds the lens loosened and eventually came free. Of course the lens is no longer usable but that’s why I was changing it in the first place.
