I have the neje master 2s max
I bought a secondhand rotary tool The problem having is trying to figure out how to connect it
NEJE manual only says connect to Y Access
Problem is Y has 2 connections YL and YR The cable I have has only won four pin connector. I think I might be missing a cable.
I guess my question is, has anybody ever used a rotary with their master2s max And if so, could you explain how you connected it to your Y access
Rotary motors come in two types, three phase and two phase. Almost all of these are two phase motors. Each phase has two wires. You machine has a pair of Y motors so it has connection for each.
Most of these have a port to plug in for a rotary..
Maybe @misken can lend a hand.
Hang in there…
Show a picture of the connectors.
"YR and "YL mean that the laser supports two Y-motors, you need to disconnect both and connect the rotary.
So are you say the connection coming from the rotary to the laser should have to wires (split) on one end to plug into YL and YR .
mine is older laser doesn’t have a port for rotary
If you have 2 Y stepper motors, disconnect both and connect rotary to one. Leave the other one disconnected. Suggest powering off while connecting/ disconnecting. If you can save your settings before messing around, do so.
I might even look at orienting the rotary for the X direction and use the single X output, but I’m always trying things that are off the rez.
@woodworkrick - Just offering some clarification. Disconnect the Y-Axis motor(s) from the controller and connect the motor on the rotary device into the port on the controller where the Y-Axis motor was connected. That should be generic enough and still get the rotary device moving. If you have automatic homing on start-up enabled you’ll have to change this. The Y-Axis will not home with the Y-Axis motors unplugged.
This is all good advice.
When LightBurn first connects with the NeJe Master 2s Max, there should be a ‘Welcome Message’ in the Console window in LightBurn. That message should contain information about the Firmware Version that is on the control board. I don’t think we need that information next.. but we might need it soon-ish. Please Select and Copy the text in the Console window and Paste it into your next reply here. It’s often helpful to have this information on hand.
Pasting the firmware version numbers helps us search for firmware version numbers as a string of text. Getting the information back out of a picture is possible but not ideal.
Thanks.
