Using Mac pro, everything was finally working well, then updated lightburn now not doing so well.
can’t get the laser to just run on one selected piece of the project
Z axis and power settings work on cut layer only, my text layer won’t focus or run with the selected power
3 is also stuck in line mode only although fill is selected or offset fill.
The workspace is completely off. Just framing the selected piece can run the laser off into rail. I can only work in absolute coordinates nothing else will work it just runs the head into the rail.
I have erased layers and started with new ones that didn’t work. I’ve gone back into backups and loaded month-old settings and can’t get previous lightburn versions to load.
Any ideas? anybody have the same issue?
These issues are not likely to be related to the upgrade.
How are you attempting to do this? What happens when you do that?
How do you know it’s not working at the selected power? How does focus work on your machine? Are you using material height to have focus height automatically changed?
What does Preview show? If it looks correct then the issue is likely that you’re not using a Filled Display style under the Window menu.
If Absolute Coords is working without issue then this is likely a workflow issue. What specific Start From mode are you trying to use and how are you setting it up?
Please also confirm that you are homing the machine before every session and never moving the laser head by hand.
Normally I could select a graphic and have only that selection burn. All of a sudden with one graphic highlighted preview showing everything opened in that file as a burn order. The framing confirms everything is trying to burn. If I use absolute coordination it works. I feel that some issues are that I had to set G10 Lp1 x=0 y=0 before to get things working maybe that setting got erased.
The focus uses a Z axis to move into focus it works in the cut layer but not a line layer move a few mm’s but not all the way.
Preview shows the text always as line regardless of mode , play confirms not fill mode even though settings are set to fill.
Yes I home every time to make sure it’s reset. That includes Z axis resets

Check that “Cut selected graphic” is enabled in Laser window. If it’s not you’ll get the behavior you describe.
If everything works with Absolute Coords this is not likely to be the issue.
What do you need to do to set focus? Can you upload a .lbrn file with a working cut layer but non-working line layer? Also, how are you differentiating cut vs line?
That’s highly unusual. Can you take a screenshot showing this or include in your .lbrn sample.
