Please help!

I have a NEJE Max 4 E80. I opened the NEJE Software and updated the laser’s firmware to the latest version. After the update, a problem appeared.

The laser’s working area is 750 × 1030 mm. After updating the firmware, the laser no longer recognizes the entire working area: physically, it only moves to about the middle of the working area, even though LightBurn still shows the working area as 750 × 1030 mm, and the same dimensions are specified in the settings.

Could you please tell me what might have changed after the firmware update and how I can fix it?

I really need help because I currently can’t work properly, and I have orders that need to be completed. :folded_hands:

Maybe not exactly. The design grid is what you tell it to be. That would not change with a laser controller software upgrade.

IF you can change your GRBL parameters, then Xmax is $130 and Ymax is $131. To see what your controller has stored, enter $$ in the Console Window.

If they do not match your expectations, then you can use the Machine Settings window to change them.

  1. SAVE A BACKUP COPY of the parameters before you change any of them.
  2. HINT: If that 750x1030 is the advertised size, you might want to enter numbers 10-15mm less to keep the laser module from banging into the frame.

Lightburn doesn’t determine your work area size. These are controller based settings within the device.

It will be in the $130 through $132.

Since they are loaded when the new firmware is loaded, it puts them back where they were.

As @MikeyH states, make a backup copy.

@ph_artem2303 the commenters above me here are correct - can you confirm you got your machine up and running by updating the firmware settings for your machine?
