New 100w galvo machine with 300x300 lense - ISSUE

Hi Alll,

I have had a 30W machine for a while now, and I had a need for faster and larger engraving areas, so I took the plunge and bought a 100w machine with an additional 300x300 lens. Now I cannot get the machine to engrave correctly. At the start of a pass it usually starts ok, but then it appears to lose power (only way I can describe it) during the pass and get inconsistent liney engravings that are different every time.

I have series of pictures, with both the supplied 175x175 lens and the 300x300 lens and I still get he same issues, but for the life of me I cannot remember how to upload photos to a post sorry.

Any thoughts. I have even put the 300x300 on my 30w machine and got a great result, just extremely slow to get the desired results.

Also, any rough calculation of power/speed changes required as you translate between the two lenses? For example if it were doubling the work area would I need double the power (or half the speed) etc or is it more exponential than linear?

Thanks in advanced!

Success. Figured out photo uploads again!

Image 1 - First instance of the issue - 100% - 300x300 lens think speed was around 500mm/s - not gaps and different levels of darkness in lines etc (should be solid square of colour). setting were exactly same for both, but gave different results…

Image 2 - Another example - 100% power - 300x300 lens think speed was around 500mm/s different lighting shows lines more clearly.

Image 3 - Another example - lower power (think around 30%) - 300x300 lens think speed was around 500mm/s lines still visible. never the same.

Image 4 - Another example - 100% power - 175x175 lens can’t remember exact speed here, but again finish unpredictable and uneven.

And just to show that I can indeed operate these machines haha, I had a very quick play with the 30w machine with the 300x300 lens and got very good results. All 100% power, both running very slow to compensate for lack of power available, the lighter coloured item was probably 1.5times faster if not a bit more on speed.

Manufacturers are standing firm on the fact it is parameter based and I am of the opinion there is an issue…

Any thoughts/advice much appreciated.
