New Computer, now the laser does not fire properly (visible, but barely scratches paper)

I have a Sculpfun A9
I have installed LightBurn 1.7.07
I installed CH34x_Install_Windows_v3_4.EXE

I recently upgraded my main PC , and reinstalled Windows and LightBurn.
The laser is automatically recognised, the laser moves along it’s path as expected… but it does not cut. The laser output is visible, but has maybe 3% power regardless of the power settings.

It is not the Laser !!
The “old PC” is now just a loose motherboard, but I got it running.
The same A9 laser works just fine on the “old PC”. So it’s not the laser, the laser still works fine.

Next thing I tried:
I installed LightBurn 1.7.07 on a spare laptop.
Same negative outcome: maybe 3% laser power.

I exported the device from the “old PC”
I imported the settings on the laptop.
Still negative outcome.

So what do you think I forgot?
What setting(s) do I need to change to get LightBurn to get back to where it was on the “Old PC” ?

Thanks in advance.

Check that the settings are set correctly for the laser. In the console type in $$ and check that $30=1000 and $32=1.

$30=1000.000
$31=0.000
$32=1

I think that part is ok.

.. keep the ideas coming

Verify your speed settings are mm/min rather than mm/sec.

Load a preferences file from your old computer or better yet, use the user bundle feature.

Thank you that got me up and running.
The "old PC " had version 1.5, so I could only export prefs.
… but that had the magic missing ingredient and now the “new PC” can use the laser cutter.

At some point I will need to perform a detain analysis of what the problem was, because obviously I don’t want to be endlessly dependent on some non default mystery setting.

Thank you
