New galvo board support

Hi,

I understand that the JCZ boards are the most popular for galvo devices. I’m trying out a new board for a custom build, primarily for packaging constraints. I suspect it may be a JCZ clone but time will tell! I’m going to use this thread to document my adventures in getting the RKQ-LM-441 board up and running.

Wish me luck!

I can google that specific board, but it links me to this site that I don’t have access. If you do, get the manual and post it here.

So I’m not of much help. If it runs EZCad2, then it should work.

I might have found the manual. It’s too large to insert here as a TXT file.

Now worries, have the manuals already. got it direct from their site, it’s also on rsd-laser. It’s native software is RK-CAD, which looks interesting, however certain license components are $$$. My aim is to add board support to galvoplotter for it.

Here’s a link to the board manuals download page and RK-CAD manual and download.

I’ve never seen this type of controller and it doesn’t appear to be built by JCZ for EZCad2.

I think he’ll just have to download Lightburn and see if it connects.

That’s part of the appeal, lol. RKCad looks pretty interesting; lost of features for automation, db integration etc. Lotta random fancy licensable features too. Can’t find a pricelist anywhere . Took me while to find which button to press to switch to English. There are built in debug tools as well, so I think it should be pretty easy to dump/figure out the protocol it speaks to the controller with, but can’t do that until it actually arrives.

I now have the board in my hands, and got the laser yesterday. Busy weekend ahead!
