New Lightburn Camera Setup

I’m relatively new to lasers. I bought my first diode laser ab out 6 months ago, then several months later bought a 60 watt Omtech CO2 machine. After getting past the mirror alignment, I decided to get a camera. I followed various YouTube tutorials and got less than satisfactory results. I continued to research methods different guys used and finally came up with a very simple method that while the same as what I saw on the tutorials can be explained far simpler.

Mount the camera and focus is self explanatory
Cover the complete honeycomb area with paper, cardboard or whatever.
This next step sealed the deal. Print the dot image to 5 X 7 inches and using contact cement affix to a stiff piece of cardboard or I used 3mm plywood. make sure there are no wrinkles of bubbles.
place this test piece flat in the various positions shown in the lens calibration window. My max score with no skips was.13, over half were .12, no skipped positions.

Finally, get a piece of cardboard or plywood to fill the entire honeycomb and and run the alignment.

My camera is off less than .5mm .

I believe size made a difference for both tests (I saw no mention of this on any videos), dot targets on a flat stable surface. No hands, lay the target down and press the capture button.

This ended up being a far simpler task once I figured these simple steps.

Hope this helps another newbie!
