New Machine - G-Code vs. Ruida

While I’m not so patiently waiting on my new Thunder Laser, I’m trying to get my ducks in a row in the shop and on the computer. I’m currently using a Chineseum K40 with a Cohesion3D board, so I’ve been using Lightburn for a year or so.

I got a license through Thunder Laser for the Ruida controller, but I’m not sure what to do as far as installation (Mac OS)…just go ahead and add another device to my current install of Lightburn? I won’t be running both machines as I’m selling the K40 if that bears on the answer.

Lightburn is registered to the computer not the laser. You only need to bother with the license portal if you are adding or removing Lightburn from one of your computers.

You will have to get the key from Thunder, when you run Lightburn and it finds the Ruida, you will be queried for the license key. It won’t talk to the Ruida without the key.

Yep… it’s that easy…

Set yourself up to use the Ethernet port on the Ruida. It’s so much better that the USB. It also supports the Lightburn Bridge.

If you can get around in grbl, here is the Ruida machine code format…

Take care, good luck.

Yep, they already sent that, just didn’t want to get ahead of myself and mess something up.

Thanks for the help!
