New motherboard laser controller replace

After replacing the controller, the laser no longer works.

Flipping the PCB bottom image and reorienting them to match the other photo:

The wire colors are meaningless.

The voltage on the LD+ terminal must be higher than the voltage on the LD- terminal when the laser should be firing. Measure with the meter’s red (+) probe on the LD+ terminal and the meter’s black (-) probe on the LD- terminal; if the voltage is negative, then the wires are reversed.

If the voltage is negative, then reversing those wires may solve the problem.

However, applying power with the incorrect polarity may have destroyed the laser diodes, in which case the laser head will never work again.

Reverse works

Does that means the machine now works correctly?

If so, I’m glad to hear the laser diodes emerged undamaged!
