I’m a CNC guy and I’m trying run this thing like a CNC machine.
my problem is with the jogging icons in the move window.
The X axis works like it should, but the Y axis is backwards another word when I click on the UP arrow the laser head moves towards the operator and vice a versa for the DOWN arrow. Is this normal for Lightburn.
I have to flip vertically all of what I’m trying to engrave so that it comes out correctly.
Which corner have you set as your device ‘Origin’? (Edit > Device Settings).
If it is front-left now? - it may need to be changed to the back-left corner see:
Troubleshooting: Wrong Orientation - LightBurn Documentation.
When machine starts up the head goes to back left.
Is your Origin set to the back left?
That’s were the Lightburn setup put it.
Ok, what happens if you set the origin to the front left then?
To my surprise it works great. I say that because I ran a file with the laser off.
Let me make more test and I’ll get back to you. Thanks a lot.
I’m all set, I went into the Machine Settings and flipped a few switches that I thought could fix this problem and it did. Thanks again
I don’t know how this post is considered the Solution when it doesn’t specify WHICH switches he flipped. @NicholasL posted the clue.
If someone came along with the same issue as you, they’d be scratching their heads to know what you did…
Do you mind taking a couple minutes to advise anyone else what the actual issue was?
Thanks
IN the Machine settings there’s an Output section that does not show until you click on the blue bar.
Once in that section you will see a Y axis section that ask you if you want to invert the direction of that axis, flip from no to yes and your all set.
