New to engraving, getting mishapen & stretched engravings

Hi,

I recently got a creality falcon 5w to dip my toes in the water now that they’re affordable

I’ve watched a load of tutorials on lightburn and I’m mystafied as to why i’m getting the below - I’m assuming it’s something to do with steps or something like that, I’ve taken the machine apart and made sure it’s all tight together

any help you can offer is appreciated

You have a serious mechanical problem at first inspection. Make sure ALL set screws in the shaft couplings and motor pulleys are tight. Your circle ends do not meet any your square lines are not straight.

Thank-you for that link,

I have a 3D printer farm and it’s my day job, I got the engraver to supliment that. In ~2014 I got a makerbot kit printer, it was fun to put together but it was a kit, around 2018 some really cheap brands came to the market, one of them being creality. I bought an Ender 3 around 2018 and it was missing two grub screws from the coupler on the linear rod. Lo and behold, 7 years later Creality are still putting out utter rubbish and the coupler (again) was missing one screw and missing one grub screw… luckily, 3D print farm, got loads of both as spares.

I should have learnt my lesson in 2018 when I remember saying “never again”

Either way, thank-you for making me look, fixed
