New to laser and light burn. Nothing works

I have just added a new creality 10w laser to my Ender 3 S1 plus.
https://store.creality.com/products/creality-laser-module
This is the laser I bought.
This system uses a controller from creality and not the 3d printer firmware.
I have no idea what firmware is on the creality falcon controller nor do I know how to find out.
I have it pluged into a laptop with windows 8.1 via the supplied USB-c cable
I installed the newest version of lightburn.

After pluging the laser in and powered it on I get a flash of the laser and 3 beeps from the laser.
When I turn on lightburn I run find my laser and nothing is found. If I manually add the laser I get no response from the laser in lightburn.
I have tried the GRBL and Marlin setup both. lightburn will not connect to the laser. When I try to select the connection port all I get it select. I have no port to select. When I go to my computer device settings it shows a new device with no drivers. I have tried to find drivers and have come up empty handed. I also tried to install the CH340 (I think) USB port drivers.

Thanks for reading

Can you take a screenshot of the device in Device Manager. That may help provide clues as to what driver is required.

Else can you provide a photo of the exposed board on the controller? A visual confirmation could also work.

Above is the device screen on my PC. When i turn the laser on this pops up and tries to find drivers then says “Driver is unavailable”.

Just to reiterate I am using windows 8.1

After i power on the laser I think I should be able to select the port its pluged into. However i dont jave any options as you can see in the bottom right corner.

Above it the “controler” that is supposed to run the laser.

Note that the screenshot is not showing Device Manager but the information shown indicates that the device is an Espressif device. Assuming this is Espressif CDC Windows 8 does not provide a driver for that device.

I’d suggest following directions from Ortur for how to use Zadig to get around this:
OLM2 Pro - DRIVER WINDOWS 7.pdf

Some Ortur devices use the same serial chip and should work the same assuming again that your device is using Espressif CDC.

Take caution to follow the instructions very carefully as using Zadig incorrectly can lead to some hard to resolve situations.
