New user cannot get a simple file to print

Sorry to be another newbie but I just set up my Atezer L2 and was able to print my first project twice with no issues. Now when I push start it moves about 1/8" and stops abruptly. The console message doesn’t offer any advice as to why. See below.

Any help would be wonderful

Is this project different to your first project? If so, how so?

Yes. I just wrote my name and put a border. It printed fine. Once when it failed it said that the connection was lost and pointed to the USB cord. I bought a new shielded one today. Same result.

Just now it failed trying to frame. I got the following message in the console

Is the name and border different to your sucessful jobs?

Could be a few things:

  • Are you using a usb connector or hub?
  • Sometimes newer cables actually don’t work on the old on-board computers used in these machines. Try the cable that came with it if you haven’t already.
  • If your job is different, and you are engraving, if could be trying to overscan outside the bounds of your workplane, which is being cancelled by the machine. Try moving the design closer to the centre of the workplane.

When I moved the design to the center it would at least frame but still failed immediately upon starting. This time I got the following:
Layer Framing

Interesting, possibly important development. I just enabled the the laser to fire during framing and that caused the faming to fail also.

Thanks for the help. After more trial and error, I think this is a hardware issue with my new Atezer. I will pursue that solution.

If i had to guess estimate, and not seeing errors of console, can you make SURE you are using the correct power adapter for your machine?
Seems almost as if you using a too weak power adapter and machine controller crashes the instant power is demanded to the laser.

Also what version of Lightburn are you running?

Thanks for your suggestion.
Tonight I disconnected LightBurn and my PC and then tried to run the sample file that came with the laser. I tried to run it via the controller but it failed the same way. As soon. As the laser tries to move it jerks, stops and shuts down.
That seems like an Atezer hardware issue rather than a LightBurn one.
I will contact Atezer tomorrow.
