We have a 100W Galvo Fiber Laser Engraver with a 110 mm focal length for jewelry creating and engraving. We are learning as we go, and have a titanium ring to engrave on the outside. Please suggest how to choose the correct settings, or a link to something like an instructional tutorial for our type of engraver. Thank you.
I got these settings from Laser Everything, a very good source of information. They give away a library of settings, so you might wish to go there and check it out.
These are the entries … they have been modified from their 30W machine to my 60W… LE has software that does this, which is what I used…
They are doing this on Titanium … names are from their library.
Anneal Gold
Engrave
Z-Mark Black
Haven’t done this myself… can’t let go of enough money for titanium, just for a try.
The LE people and Youtube have some good information on doing jewelry, I’ve never tried it…
The only thing missing with many Youtube videos, is they leave out the settings. I have four lenses and I switch around… so what lens they are using help me with power considerations.
Unfortunately, the only thing I know of is to put a piece of scrap whatever and try some of these as a starting points…
With the cost of your materials, I’d do some more reading about it…
Think you got a big enough machine for someones ring?
Good luck
Thanks for responding so promptly! We have a Chinese-made equivalent of the Best Built 100W laser engraving/cutting system. It didn’t come with the instructions, software, or tech support available with the $60K BB machine, so we are learning everything as we go. We do have a budget for education and practice, and have watched several videos. Thanks to you, now I’ll track down the LE settings library. Thanks again for your help.
None come with instruction or much of anything else…
Glad you got enough to get you going…
There are not a lot of people doing jewelry …
If you have issues, sing out…
Good luck
Will do. Thanks again.
